Ok, Something Here
I'm not going to force upon you anything here, I am simply offering up ideas. This isn't directed toward anyone in particular. PLEASE, Please don't take this as a personal insult. This is just meant to be a general thing sent for everyone. (actually, this will probably just be a elaborated and more organized rant)
Internet Speaks - Why?
Lol.Rofl.Lmao.Jk.__WTF?__
Ok, this just bites the cake. It's easy to see where we're going when you notice that most people need to use abreviations like those to express genuine (or un) feelings. It's not much of a time saver...is it? To type something more specific like "haha" or "hehe" instead of the more "lol" or "rofl". That though is not that bad. Jk? not horrible when used online...I'm sure the difference in time it takes to type kidding instead of jk is so tramendous that it's actually not worth the effort.
The one that really pushes me is the use of the term "u". Instead of typing the two extra letters and typing "you", people will abbreviate and type "u". Not only does it make you look like an idiot, it also is ineffective in many expressions.
Take these two examples -
a) I have something to say to you. I don't like you, I don't want to hear, I don't want to look at you, I don't even want you to be where I was.
b) What does this button do? Do you press it? There isn't a sign here that says anything about what it does. So what do I do?
c) I can't believe you did that! Were you not thinking? Or did you want to be an idiot?
Ok, now rephrased to be more familiar...
A) i got somting to say 2 u. i dont lik u i dont want to here u i dont want 2 look at u i dont even want u 2 b where i was
B) wat dose this buton do? do u prees it? there isnt a sign here tat sais anyting aout wat it does so what do i do?
C) i dont beleve u did tat!!!!!! were u not thinking! or did u want 2 be a idiot!
Which one do you take more seriously? Right. So, why then, do most people choose to write in the 2nd manner? It's pretty well proven that repetiion builds habit and like I just demonstrated, internet speaks is not a good habit, so why the repetion?
When you are trying to have people take you seriously, why do you refuse to let them? When you write in illegible languages, it becomes impossible to read. When you write like an idiot that doesn't know what they are doing, people will think you are one. If people don't take you seriously, why give them another reason to?
When you are trying to make any sort of point, please, make it in a legible, sensible way. Use proper words and spellings. Get your point across, and still save face.
That was more organized than I thought it was going to be, but I don't think it was that good. At least I got what I was trying to get across across.
Anyways, my parent's are in Kzoo today for a court hearing for my aunt. She's suing some company, don't remember who, but my dad is her legal cousel. It's civil court anyways, so no worries. Well, they were gone, but luckily, I was able to find food in the fridge, mainly leftovers from yesterday. Good stuff still.
Big news: I got 105$$ in Best Buy gift certs today. I actually thought I would never see this amount. My mom's friend bought a whole home theater system on my Reward Zone card and boom, tons of points. I really didn't think that this was coming though, and lo and behold, in the mail today, 105$. Damn.
I'll end this here, nothing more to say. Five day weekend, what's wrong? Nothing.
